In our part of the world, the air is cooling off, leaves on trees are beginning to change color and children are heading back to school after their summer vacation. This got us thinking about new Fall clothes, backpacks and our September part of the month – a 3D printed buckle.
We produced this functional buckle on a Rize™ One 3D printer. It’s a superb example of the snap-fit capabilities of our APD technology. What sets it apart from buckles you might have seen made with other 3D printers is its strength and durability. Since parts produced with Rize 3D printing technology uniquely have uniform strength in the x, y and z axes (isotropic) and they retain their material properties indefinitely, this buckle can be snapped together and released over and over without breaking or losing the integrity of the connection - regardless of the orientation in which it is printed. And, since Rize’s voxel-level 3D printing capability enables 3D printed text and images on parts, we embellished the buckle with our logo.
